Browns To Have Another Chat With Free Agent DE Jadeveon Clowney

The Cleveland Browns still have plenty of dough to spend this offseason, and it appears they have their sights set on a particular big name player who could make a big impact on their defense.

That player is free agent defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who reports say will sit down with Cleveland Monday to try and hammer out a deal to join the Browns for 2021 and beyond.

It's not the first time that Clowney and the Browns have chatted, so many now believe that the 28-year-old will be Cleveland-bound by the end of the day.

Reports are Cleveland wanted to wait out the knee surgery that Clowney had this past offseason. The injury limited him to just six games for the Tennessee Titans last year.

Clowney was in the mix to sign with Cleveland back in 2020, but instead took a deal with the Titans.

Browns fans are hopeful that Clowney's presence will give former first overall pick Myles Garrett time to rush the quarterback and continue to make plays.

Cleveland has already inked former Falcons first-rounder Takkarist McKinley this offseason, but many feel he'll rotate with Garrett, not Clowney. The team hopes that Clowney can fully recover from surgery to play most defensive downs.

Clowney made the Pro Bowl for three straight seasons starting in 2016 as a member of the Houston Texans.

In that time, he amassed 24.5 sacks for Houston.
