Browns GM Fired Up About Baker Mayfield. Should We Be Excited?

Videos by OutKick

Browns GM Andrew Berry can’t wait for Baker Mayfield and the 2020 season. He went on and on about the quarterback and his offseason work ahead of training camp on a conference call with reporters.

“Baker has really been outstanding this entire spring and summer. His level of engagement with the coaching staff, getting up to speed mentally with the system, his interaction with his teammates has been impressive.”

Baker also seems to be fired up on Instagram:

Didn’t Baker Mayfield say he was done talking?

The Cleveland Browns entire organization has doubled down on playing with a chip on their shoulder. A lack of leadership strays the team away from what’s truly important: Winning.

Mayfield and his general management want to play the role of the underdog no one believes in. They’re intentionally setting the stage for the last laugh…It’s a risky game. Telling the media “everyone’s sleeping on us” only makes the fall harder to swallow.

Andrew Berry mentioned a noticeable change in Mayfield’s body.

“He added four pounds of lean mass, cut body fat, came back in terrific shape.”

Should we buy in?

Baker Mayfield quite literally was a coin flip throwing the football last year throwing 22 TD’s and 21 INT’s, so we’re not sure how his body will change that. A more realistic reason to be excited about the Browns is their new emphasis on improving a dismal offensive line. Baker simply had no time to throw the ball last year…partly because the team gave up valuable O-line help to pay for WR’s he wouldn’t have time to throw to. Jedrick Wills Jr. on the O-line gets it done!

The Cleveland Browns improved roster should give us a much more enjoyable Baker Mayfield, so Andrew Berry and Baker’s wet dream of a Brown’s playoff birth JUST MIGHT pay off.

  1. I like Baker and rooting for him i believe he has a better team around him now and for the Browns since he arrived there record is much better. I think before he got there the previous two years they won 1 game or 2 so this year we shall see.
