Broncos Rescind Contract Offer To Running Back Phillip Lindsay

Running back Phillip Lindsay is set to enter the free agent market, as his agent Mike McCartney tweeted on Wednesday that his client will not be returning to Denver.

"After great conversations with the @Broncos, it's been mutually decided that rescinding the RFA Tender is best for both Phillip Lindsay and the team. It's been a great 3 years in Denver for @I_CU_boy. Nothing beats seeing @EmpowerField rocking as it did when #30 broke a long run."

In three seasons with the Broncos, Lindsay rushed for 2,550 yards and 17 scores. His best season of the three came in his rookie year when he rushed for 1,037 yards and nine TDs.

The decision to rescind the offer isn't a shock to many, as the team has already brought in free agent running back Mike Boone.

Denver's decision will save them the $2.1 million that they would have paid Lindsay.

Lindsay entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado in 2018. He was impactful right away, going for over 1,000 yards rushing in 11 games.

Last season, Lindsay was held to career-lows in yards (502), touchdowns (1) and yards per carry (4.3).
