Breaking Down the AP Top 25

The Associated Press released their latest top 25 today. Here's where it stands:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Georgia
5. Florida
6. LSU
7. Notre Dame
8. Auburn
9. Texas
10. Texas A&M
11. Oklahoma State
12. UNC
13. Cincinnati
14. UCF
15. Tennessee
16. Memphis
17. Miami
18. Louisville
19. Louisiana
20. Virginia Tech
21. BYU
22. Army
23. Kentucky
24. Appalachian State
25. Pittsburgh

Some observations:

1) They didn't bother including the Big Ten and Pac-12 in this. There's big optimism about the Big Ten starting a season in mid-October so when Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and some others are playing that will make this crop of these rankings subject to interesting change.

2) Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, all the way up to no. 19 after their fun upset of Iowa State on Saturday.

3) Other than the lack of Big Ten, there aren't really major changes at the top as SEC hasn't started yet. Oklahoma did leapfrog Georgia. Also, Florida leapfrogged LSU even though neither team has played.

4) Really cool to see Army and BYU in here. Neither of them received votes for the initial AP rankings.
