Sexy Brazilian street sweeper is taking the Internet by storm
Nick Saban likes to tell a story about artists and street sweepers, and it essentially is all about having pride in whatever it is you do and trying to be the best. So if you're a street sweeper, be the very best street sweeper you can be.
Well, I'll be damned, Rita Mattos is doing just that.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has become an Internet sensation over the last couple days as people have discovered the "sexy street sweeper" after some photos of Mattos at work surfaced on a messaging app.
Mattos didn't initially get what all the fuss was about. To her, she's just doing her job, which consists of 12-hour shifts sweeping streets and cleaning out drains.
"People are surprised when they see a pretty girl working as a street cleaner," Mattos said in an interview. "They say that I could find a better job than sweeping and weeding. But why should street cleaners, necessarily, be ugly? There is a prejudice against them.
"I'm very proud of what I do. Apart from working very hard, I have a lot of fun too."
Now that she is Internet famous, though, Mattos has been flooded with modeling offers and hopes she can turn that into a career and reportedly already has an agent. "A lot of friends have congratulated me and told me I deserve this recognition," she said. "I've always dreamed of being a model, but I also don't want to build up my hopes."
Even if Mattos does take on modeling work, she said she doesn't plan to quit her street sweeping job. Why? Besides her enjoying it, the work helps keep her shape.
"It's hard, physical work, good for a firm body," Mattos said. "I also go to the gym every day after I clock off. I'm not the type of person who diets or doesn't eat what they want to. I have to take care of my body for the beach. Looking good on the beach is everything. Lying in a bikini in the sun is all good for me."
Good luck to Mattos in her newfound Internet fame and future career options. I'm sure she will not need it.
As for all of you at work passing the slow hours until football season, whatever you do don't say we weren't there for you. Here are some more pics from Mattos' Instagram.
