11-Year-Old Steals School Bus, Leads Police on High-Speed Chase

Just when we thought 2020 took a week off.

According to Good Morning America, an 11-year-old Louisiana boy stole a school bus and subsequently led police on a high-speed chase.

Let that sit for a bit.

Okay, now watch:

"Unusual" is right.

The wild chase-down went 13 miles and lasted nearly 30 minutes. Police say the boy was too short to reach the pedals, so he stood while driving. Officers also allege the boy tried to hit another vehicle intentionally before crashing into a large tree.

After the crash, the 11-year-old was arrested on four charges, including aggravated assault and theft of a motor vehicle.

Police are still looking into how he got the keys to the bus and why he'd even think of stealing it. The child was booked in juvenile detention.

Luckily, no one was hurt during the chase.

We'd call this a crazy story, but it's 2020. We're just surprised that a school bus heist took this long.
