Blue Jays Get Aggressive In Pursuit Of George Springer

All of the baseball world would love to land free agent center fielder George Springer, and at least one team has put forth an "aggressive" offer for him.

That would be none other than the Toronto Blue Jays, according to Jim Duquette of SNY.tv. While Duquette says the Blue Jays' package is biggie, he adds that it is still below the $150 million-range Springer is supposedly seeking.

Springer, 31, has been with the Houston Astros since 2014. He is a three-time All-Star (2017-19), former World Series MVP (2017) and two-time Silver Slugger Award winner (2017, '19).

Along with the Blue Jays, the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox are said to be in hot pursuit of Springer.

Per SNY's Andy Martino, the Mets and Springer "haven’t found sufficient common ground to even get near a deal."
