Yesterday, we correctly called the Orioles to beat the Blue Jays and they won with relative ease – a 7 to 4 final. It was the one game we won on the slate but we can continue to focus on this series where I see another clear side and edge in today’s game.
Alek Manoah has been phenomenal all season. He has also been super consistent. Overall his ERA is in the mid-two’s and he has been strong against almost every opponent. He has one game against the Orioles this year and he went six innings with no earned runs allowed and only one hit given up. That’s a great performance. On the season, he’s only had five starts all year that he’s allowed three or more earned runs. Today he will dominate the Orioles.
To try and combat Manoah’s excellence, we have Kyle Bradish taking the ball. Bradish has also been consistent… consistently bad. In 33.1 innings he’s allowed 25 earned runs at home. Against Toronto in his one start, he went 4.1 innings and allowed five earned runs and nine hits. To his credit, Bradish has been a bit better lately. Over his last two starts, he allowed three earned runs total over 10 innings. I expect the Blue Jays, who haven’t been playing great lately, to win this one on the run line. I’m also playing the first-half run line.
