Billy Napier, the head coach at Louisiana, has become the latest to turn down Auburn in their head coaching search. Here’s what Bruce Feldman reported on the matter:
Billy Napier was someone #Auburn was very interested in, but sources tell me the Louisiana head coach is expected to remain with the Ragin Cajuns, and is very excited about the direction of their program and what they're building there.

Shannon Terry, who founded the college sports site 247, was the first to report the news on Napier, and he says to keep an eye on UAB coach Bill Clark:
Coaching searches are filled w/ craziness & nothing new in 2020. Sources tell us Billy Napier has turned down the Auburn job. Keep a close watch on Bill Clark — his interview went really well. Clark is incredibly well respected by his peers. A good possibility he is next in line

Napier is the third head coach today revealed to be out of the search for Auburn. As OutKick’s Clint Lamb covered earlier, Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian and Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele are also out of the mix.
How 2020 would it be if this search comes back around to Hugh Freeze?
