Bill de Blasio Keeps The Press Conference Cringe Chugging Along With Nets Gear

In his latest scheme to appear relatable, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio decided to wear Brooklyn Nets gear to his press conference. He wore the jersey to announce a partnership between the city and the Nets with a mobile vaccination site at the Barclay's Center.

Because COVID is still a massive deal up there.

What's clear is that Bill de Blasio and Andrew Yang need to hire new PR teams. Wearing Nets/Knicks attire to pretend they've watched basketball just ain't it.

De Blasio's job is to keep his people informed and make proper decisions that will lead New York City towards a full recovery. Rather than chewing food on camera and wearing a wrinkled button up over a Nets jersey of a player he's never heard of -- he just be himself.

Bill de Blasio last talked about sports in 2018 when he pledged his allegiance to the Boston Red Sox, so he should own up to the fact that he doesn't know New York sports. While he's celebrating a vaccination site, Texas is wide open and celebrates getting back to work. There's a lesson here.
