Big Ben Sounds Like He Is Ready To Start The Dwayne Haskins Fan Club

Videos by OutKick

Ben Roethlisberger is a huge supporter of recently signed quarterback Dwayne Haskins, and we honestly don’t know how to feel about it.

“His throwing mechanics are some of the prettiest I’ve seen,” Roethlisberger said.

Here’s where it gets funny.

“He (Haskins) could throw a ball through a car wash and it wouldn’t get wet.”

Yeah, I bet he could. Washington Dwayne Haskins couldn’t throw a football at a car wash and get the ball wet, even if he tried to. Dude was flat out cheeks at the quarterback position, though that’s not to say he doesn’t have the skillset to be good. The guy has a CANNON, but he also struggles with accuracy and decision making.

None of these qualities seem easy to master, so let’s not pretend Haskins is bringing anything to Steelers’ practices we didn’t see in Washington. Tell Big Ben to pump the brakes and simply say the kid’s got some raw ability they can work with. Nothing wrong with that.

  1. They called him “shotgun” at TOSU, so no question his arm strength was his calling card. Thing is…in the NFL (you all can fill in the blank).
I hope Big Ben can mentor Dwayne a bit (on field stuff only), and pass the torch, if Haskins has the goods. If not, we all know about the big name QBs coming outta college who didn’t make it.

  2. If Haskins is ever on the field in a game, the Steelers have no chance. They probably don’t anyway. Bad offensive line and a run game reliant on a rookie. Their top receiver will probably get suspended for kicking someone in the head at a night club. Their #2 is far more concerned about his brand than the game and their #3 can’t catch. They have a pass catching TE who struggles to catch passes and their defense lost their top and nickel corners, on top of their second best pass rusher. On top of everything, they have an obvious, gutless head coach that couldn’t care less about any type of discipline. Good times.
