Big Ben Says Steelers Players Only Meeting Was Not About JuJu

Ben Roethlisberger cleared the air Wednesday about the players-only meeting the Steelers held this week. It wasn't about Juju Smith-Schuster and his logo dancing for TikTok after all.

"I’m so far removed from social media," Roethlisberger said of the drama surrounding JuJu. "I didn’t know a lot about it until someone brought it up." Uh, OK.

Smith-Schuster announced Wednesday that he would stop dancing at midfield on logos. “For me, honestly, I was dancing when we were undefeated. I was dancing when we lost our three games. I’m not gonna change the person that I am. It’s getting to the point where my teammates are being asked this question, my coaches…”

It's time to get back to football, according to JuJu.

“For the betterment of myself and my teammates, I’m going to stop dancing on the logos,” he said during a Zoom press conference.

As for the claims that Big Ben, 38, is on his last leg, Roethlisberger welcomes that kind of talk.

"I don't blame them," he said Wednesday. "When you play like poo, you deserve to be talked about like that. ... That's on me, I need to be better."

The Colts, currently on a three-game winning streak, roll into Pittsburgh for Saturday's crucial game, but Big Ben has been in a big slump. Roethlisberger's completion percentage has dipped below 70% for the last three games, and the Steelers have lost three in a row.

The offense has struggled. The Steelers haven't scored 20-plus in a game since November 22.

So, what was discussed in that meeting Big Ben held?

"I'll just let media people tell me, I guess," the 17-year vet said. "They seem to be coming up with all kinds of stories -- not from my people or my camp."
