Best Of Screencaps: Instagram Models Prove How Much They Love Freedom

This Week In OutKick:

That's right, Best of Screencaps IS OFFICIALLY BACK BACK. Between golf trips and the 4th holiday, it just wasn't happening for the last three or four weeks, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get up on a very rainy Sunday morning, throw on some mood music with birds chirping mixed with pianos and synthesizers and pound out a tribute to all the freedom celebrating that went on this week across social media.

This was the week for Instagram models to shine and they delivered three to four days of solid content which makes my job incredibly easy this time of year. I get up, the birds are chirping their hearts out and I can fire up Instagram knowing the models have been dumping out thousands of red, white and blue tributes. It's a beautiful thing for a content curator.

Anyway, let's get down to OutKick business where the team is busy getting in its vacations before the six-month football grind gets underway. I saw that the OutKick 360 guys had some time off from their daily talk show grind. I also saw that they're beefing with the Nashville Predators media relations guy.

Speaking of beefs, did you see the drama between OutKick bulldog Bobby Burack and ESPN's Stan Verrett? These two have been going at it for months on end, but it got pretty ugly this week as Stan went into a complete meltdown over the Bulldog crushing Maria Taylor.

Personally, I've graduated out of the beef game. I just don't have the stamina like the old days when I could stay up past 10 EST to fight with Cleveland Browns fans who wanted to break my legs over my Johnny Manziel reporting. They never have thanked me for how things worked out after Manziel partied his way right out of town.

• Shoutout to OutKick copy editor Cortney Wilmering, Ph.D. (@cortneywilm) who really is the glue behind the scenes to this site. She lost power this week during some mid-Michigan storms and yet there she was battling her way through copy to keep this site looking as professional as possible. I'm not going to lie, when it was announced in 2020 that OutKick had a Ph.D. coming on as a copy editor I was fairly certain we were going to butt heads. I've been a wildcat blogger since 2007 and I have my own way of communicating with you guys. I don't like sentences to look like some copy editor wrote them. I Iike sentences to come off like I'm talking to you guys at the bar.

Cortney has been nothing but supportive and understanding of my own mission here. She gets what I'm up to and I really appreciate that. There's been zero head-butting. She's an absolute hero around here.

• You're damn right I'm proud to see the TNML shirt amongst the 'Top Selling' merchandise on the site. You guys have been incredibly loyal to this project and it shows. I'm told we've moved several hundred TNML shirts since they went on sale a few weeks ago. Great job everyone!

• As for site founder & boss man Clay Travis, I hope you guys caught him talking about the cats who have taken over his house. Those really are beautiful cats. It's easy to see why Clay would just let these two maniacs do their thing. Look at those faces. After fighting the coronabros, the losers, the woke blue checkmarks, Clay gets to sit back & relax in the recliner and snuggle with those cats.

• I noticed that OutKick college football writer Clint Lamb was busy Saturday wishing away summer. Leave it to the CFB guys to always be in a hurry for pullovers and media food spreads. Clint's based in Birmingham where I suppose it's like living on the surface of the sun. This is the time of year Clint needs to fly north, suck down some Pure Michigan, recharge the batteries and get his head right.

I'll have Clint know that I spent my Saturday night on the patio with my wife talking about future landscaping projects and it was a perfect 74 or so with light winds. College football can wait, Clint!

And with that, we'll go back to enjoying all that summer has to offer including those upcoming golf tournaments I have on my schedule, another trip to northern Michigan for more golf and canoeing, plus a possible sports-related trip for my family.

Have a great Sunday and we'll get back to it Monday morning.
