Bears RB Tarik Cohen To Start Training Camp On The PUP List

As camps around the NFL begin to open this week, players are having physicals to determine whether they need to start camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

The latest player to join the list hails from Chicago, as today the Bears announced that running back Tarik Cohen has been placed on the 'PUP list.'

Cohen on the list isn't a huge shock as he continues to make his way back from an ACL injury that ended his 2020 season three weeks in. He didn't take part in any of the team's offseason workout programs.

Along with Cohen, the team also placed wide receiver Dazz Newsome on the PUP list.

Cohen had a big 2018 season for Chicago, going off for 1,169 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns. He also led the league with 411 punt return yards and captured All-Pro and Pro Bowl nods.

He started a career-high 11 games in 2019, but put up only 669 yards from scrimmage. Last year, he was limited by the ACL, but before he even got to that point, teammate David Montgomery held the lead running back spot for the Bears.

The team also has Damien Williams, Ryan Nall, Artavis Pierce and rookies Khalil Herbert and CJ Marable in their running back corps.
