Bears QB Room Disaster, Jimmie Johnson As The King & Dale, Plus BYU Yells 'Beat Army'

The Lions center is fan girling over Adrian Peterson signing with the team

Frank Ragnow is in disbelief over what his team, the Lions, went out and did this week in signing Adrian Peterson. Ragnow grew up in Minnesota and told the media via conference call that this is big for young Frank Ragnow: "I was freaking out so much," Ragnow said about the news. "What year was he drafted, what was it like (2007) or something like that? I think I got a jersey right when he entered the league and I remember, A.D., All Day baby. I remember him running for 296 (yards) vs. the Chargers. I mean, wild. Just wild. I can’t even describe it. My family’s freaking out, all my friends back home are freaking out. It’s pretty cool."

How was the holiday weekend for Vegas, which has been struggling to make it with COVID restrictions and business travel pretty much nonexistent? There was a 22-mile backup Monday on I-15 headed back to California. Air travel is down, but at least the California money is still rolling in.

Finally, Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo had been very open on podcasts and in interviews with national media where he worried about his team not practicing tackling in fall camp. And then BYU came to town out out-energized, out-played, out-tackled Navy. Turns out Ken knew his team pretty well. Ken's in his 14th season at Navy. He'll have them prepared in a couple of weeks at Tulane.
