Baker Mayfield Takes A Shot At Browns 'Fans' Who Want The Team To Trade For Deshaun Watson

Only in Cleveland.

A fan base that's been starved for any sort of success for decades finally got some in 2020. The Browns went 11-5, beat their biggest rival in a Wild Card game in Pittsburgh, and took the reigning Super Bowl Champion Chiefs to the limit in the divisional round.

Many think the Browns are on the upswing, and it's tough to go anywhere in Cleveland and not see someone sporting some type of Browns apparel.

And yet, some Browns fans still LOVE to over analyze, and many are in the process of doing that again with the team's quarterback.

Baker Mayfield is coming off his best season as a pro, sporting a 95.9 quarterback rating, throwing for 26 touchdowns and eight picks, and showing the moxie that Browns fans have been wanting to see from a quarterback for years.

That's not stopping some Browns fans from wanting the team to sell the farm and go after unhappy Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, who Thursday 'officially' requested a trade away from the Texans.

From debating it on sports talk radio to talking about it on social media, fans seem torn on who they want under center for the Browns in 2021.

It's something that's not lost on Mayfield, who has seen the debate unfold on social media.

Mayfield took to Twitter to give his two cents on the situation, going so far as to question how much fandom some people really have for the Brown and Orange.

As expected, the Browns themselves haven't said anything about Watson, and the Jets and Dolphins seem like the front runners to land him.

Meanwhile, Mayfield will continue to try and win over the fan base. He may have already changed the minds of many non-believers, but he evidently still has a ways to go to win over everyone.
