Baker Gives Browns Fan Battling Cancer A Big Hug, Cosmo Has Lost Its Mind & Tebow Reads To His Dog

How was that first Monday without football?

No joke, I spent part of the night watching a documentary on author Laura Ingalls Wilder of Little House on the Prairie fame. Her father would pack up the family at least once a year and move around the upper midwest, to Kansas, to North Dakota, spend winter in some one-room cabin in the middle of nowhere without any sort of insulation, etc. The next time your kids are complaining about how hard they have it when the Wi-Fi isn't working in the car, tell them you'll correct the signal, but they have to read up on Ingalls Wilder's life.

Then, when they're done reporting back on what they learned about her life, they can read up on Dolly Parton's early childhood the next time they're demanding the heat be turned up in the house. Hopefully that snaps them out of it the next time they're demanding a mocha from Starbucks.

My youngest son celebrated his fourth birthday Monday and didn't demand the thermostat be adjusted, so it was a good night. There was a small gathering -- nothing that would cause the COVID cops to show up -- and grandparents singing 'Happy Birthday' over FaceTime from Florida. The only issue was the ice cream in the garage fridge. It turns out, I need to adjust the thermostat to get a deeper freeze. Go figure. Take that, Ingalls Wilder.

• The story that's starting to emerge in Philly is that players are furious with Doug Pederson over how he handled Sunday's game against Washington. The Eagles went from the 9th pick, if they won the game, to the 6th pick in the draft. What would you have done in the same situation?

• $1,228 is the new get-in price on StubHub for the national championship game.

• Looking at the national weather map, there's not much going on right now. Let's be honest, we need a massive snowstorm to give us some content. We need dads dropping their kids into massive snow piles to fire up the internet warriors.
