B1G Will Go Another Week Without Ranked Teams In Associated Press Poll

For a second consecutive week, the B1G will have zero teams in the Associated Press Poll.

After being included in the preseason rankings last weekend, B1G was held off the AP Top 25. Postponing the season forced the AP to move forward on the vote without any teams from the conference. This includes the exclusion of the Pac-12, Mountain West and MAC, that postponed the fall season.

B1G teams are reportedly being held off the AP poll until they re-enter for the vote Sept. 27. They are now given more time to evaluate scheduling and weigh opt-in/outs on each team.

Delaying the vote is frustrating because there's pride in being a top 25 team, but this is the right move. Pretending to know how these teams will stack up when we have no clue who's playing would be an indictment on the system.

So when?

If you're a B1G fan, don't be upset with their exclusion from the poll. Serves not only as fair to the teams with settled rosters/schedules, but also justice. Failing leadership steering their programs towards fall delays deserves to be left off the AP Poll for a couple weeks.

B1G is officially scheduled to play their first games the weekend of Oct. 23-24, so it's still uncertain who opts-in or out. There's simply too many question marks to involve the conference in fun things.
