Atlanta Braves Relief Pitcher's Signature Shows Off The Best Nickname In Baseball

When a fan drops a baseball in Atlanta Braves reliever Tyler Matzek's glove, he's glad to drop those balls right back with his new nickname included.

A lucky Braves fan in attendance for Game 2 of the 2021 World Series — hosted at Minute Maid Park for a consecutive night — got to cradle one of Tyler's autographed balls before the game's start, with his "Nutsack" nickname written underneath the scribble.

Seen as the team's standout reliever in the postseason, Matzek has created a comeback moment in his career after years of the left-handed pitcher having issues getting his performance up in the regular season.

This postseason, Matzek has been going nuts on the mound and was knighted "Tyler Nutsack" by fellow Braves pitcher Luke Jackson after Tyler officially burst on the scene in Game 6 of the NLCS. “That’s what everyone calls him, because he’s got to drag those huge balls out to the mound every night.”

Leading up to Game 1 of the World Series, Matzek boasted a 1.74 ERA in 10 1/3 innings pitched — allowing only two runs, four walks and reaching 17 total strikeouts.

Atlanta is hoping that Tyler will log in another successful series for the Fall Classic. The Braves look to overcome the Houston Astros for a 2-0 start Wednesday night.
