Are The Carolina Panthers Ready To Move Down From The 8th Pick In The 2021 NFL Draft?

All the questions about the 2021 NFL Draft will be answered in just over a week, when the Jacksonville Jaguars take center stage with the first overall pick in Cleveland at the league's showcase event.

Many teams, including the Caroline Panthers, are now working 24/7 to figure out their best draft strategy.

The Panthers wrapped up Matt Rhule's first year at 5-11, good enough for a 3rd place finish in the NFC South behind the Saints and Bucs.

Now the team is looking to fill some holes on their roster, and it's up to New Panthers GM Scott Fitterer to work his magic with the No. 8 pick next Thursday.

The Cats were already able to acquire a quarterback they feel is going to be their starter on day one: former New York Jets signal-caller Sam Darnold. However, there are still other things this team needs as they look over the draft board for next week. The Panthers could use a linebacker, tight end, corner and edge rusher.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Carolina is talking to other squads about that 8th pick, and is still entertaining offers for it.

There are several teams with pressing needs, especially at quarterback, so Carolina could have a golden goose with that No. 8 pick, should they choose to trade for it.

One obvious team that could come calling is the Denver Broncos, who have the No. 9 pick and who are still very much in the market for a quarterback.

Do the Broncos take a chance and move up? We shall see in eight days how it all plays out.
