Arch Manning Ranked Top QB in High School Class

Arch Manning is the top-ranked quarterback and fifth-ranked player overall in 247's initial top 100 recruiting rankings for the class of 2023. A rising sophomore at Isidore Newman, Arch is the son of Cooper, nephew of Peyton and Eli, and grandson of Archie.

As we've previously written, Manning had 34 touchdown passes, 6 interceptions, a 65.5% completion percentage, and 12.6 yards per attempt as a freshman. As of June, he'd grown from 6'1 to 6'3 and from 165 pounds to 190 since last season.

If this is the first you're hearing of him, here's a highlights tape:

The recruitment of Manning is going to be a story unlike what we've probably ever otherwise seen in football. His uncles were also highly touted, yes, but this was before the internet age where every morsel was hyper scrutinized. I know, there's an irony in saying that as we're perpetuating it.

Nonetheless, Manning reportedly already has offers from Duke, North Carolina, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas, and Georgia. It would hardly be surprising if quarterback factories Clemson and Oklahoma also got into the mix.

You're probably also wondering who the four blue chippers ahead of Arch Manning are:

Lebbeus Overton, SDE
Milton (Alpharetta, GA)

Peter Woods, SDE
Thompson (Alabaster, AL)

James Smith, DT
Carver (Montgomery, AL)

Francis Mauigoa, OT
Aquinas (San Bernardino, CA)

It's going to be a wild couple years of twists and turns here.
