Arch Manning hasn’t had many shaky nights in 2020, but he ran into one Friday night when he threw three interceptions in a 31-8 win over South Plaquemines. Cooper Manning’s son, the top-ranked high school quarterback in the class of 2023, finished 23-of-36 for 229 yards with one touchdown and those three interceptions, but a solid night on the ground made up for the turnovers as Isidore Newman is now 8-0 and heading to the Louisiana state playoffs.
There have been only five other Newman teams in the school’s history to go undefeated during a regular season, according to NOLA.com. Arch is now 17-1 as the team’s quarterback. Through eight games this season, he’s 117-of163 for 1,624 yards, 19 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.
In 2019, Manning went 9-1 and he had 2,438 yards passing and 34 touchdowns to just six interceptions.
This combination should look pretty familiar by now.
