Anti-BLM Protesters Threaten To Disrupt Production On Colin Kaepernick’s Netflix Series

Colin Kaepernick is back in the headlines, but sadly for not so great reasons. Anti-BLM protesters are now reportedly threatening to disrupt his Netflix drama series “Colin in Black and White.”

If you have not heard about the show, which is being put together by Kaepernick and Emmy winner Ava DuVernay, the series will take a look at the adolescent life of Kaepernick, the things that he went through in high school, playing in the NFL and then his work as an activist.

There’s no release date yet, but TMZ sports states that anti-BLM protesters are reportedly looking to do what they can to halt production.

Word is that executives on the project sent staff an email with measures to protect the cast and crew.

TMZ states there was supposed to be a protest at the location shoot last Friday. That protest did not end up taking place, but staff and crew were still concerned about the protesters.

The anti-BLM group that made the threat was the Proud Boys, according to TMZ.

Kaepernick was not on the set last week, which could be part of the reason the group decided to scrap the protest.

“With his act of protest, Colin Kaepernick ignited a national conversation about race and justice with far-reaching consequences for football, culture and for him, personally,” DuVernay said when the project was announced.

“Colin’s story has much to say about identity, sports and the enduring spirit of protest and resilience. I couldn’t be happier than to tell this story with the team at Netflix.”

While no release date is on the table for “Colin in Black and White,” Netflix has stated it remains one of the most highly anticipated releases for 2021 for the streaming service.

  1. This is a damn lie. First the left blamed everything was blamed white supremacist groups, now everything will be blamed on The Proud Boys. Even if it were remotely true, I thought the left thought disruption was a good thing, make people uneasy.

  2. Who would watch anything having to do with Kaepernick? Anna Duvernay hates whites as well. Any white person tuning into that shit when it’s on Netflix should be drummed out of the Caucasian race.

  3. Colin Kapernick is not worth anyone’s time. I am as anti-BLM/Neo-Marxists as they come, but I also have a. job and do not have time to waste. Spending your time protesting that guy is not a wise investment of time. When it comes on Netflix, do NOT turn the show on or cancel Netflix. I am close to doing the latter anyway, this may just push me over the edge. The marketplace, when its allowed to work, has a funny way of correcting things that are not worth their salt. Besides, trying to shut one side of an argument up is primarily the domain of the progressive left/Neo-Marxist party for the last few years. They WANT to shut the other side up because the know their arguments are weak. I am confident Colin Kaepernick has no well thought out, articulate arguments to support his position. Let him use his time and Netflix’s money and ignore both of them.

  4. Sounds like a pathetic PR stunt to keep the “Proud Boys”, whoever the hell they are, in the news, and by extension, Donald Trump (who has no relationship to this group). And of course, allowing Kaepernick to continue to play the victim. Shutting people & projects down is what the left does, generally not conservatives. If on the off chance this story had an ounce of truth, I’d criticize whoever was behind it, as would most others who have no use for BLM.

  5. Ugh… Shit like this is just going to undermine the overall opposition to this dude and bolster the BLM movement as a whole. Same can be said for that dumb broad in congress on the conspiracy theoty shit. Buddy is just going to parlay this into more victimhood/martyrdom. It’s not like a protest is going to stop the production. Only going to hype up the documentary and add some B-roll.

  6. I read the article but didn’t see any of the “not so great reasons” why “Colin Kaepernick is back in the headlines”. Unless Outkick is trying to say that a racist instigator getting a taste of what he’s been dishing out is somehow a ‘not great reason’.
