Washington Post Writer Says It's 'Disrespectful' to Call Harris 'Kamala,' After Calling Her 'Kamala' For Weeks
Jen "Denial Dooms Democracy" Rubin is an opinion writer for the Washington Post and contributor for MSNBC. Her roles alone tell you all you need to know about her. She's not all that different from her colleague Taylor Lorenz.
Case in point: her latest X thread.
On Wednesday, Rubin got mad at news outlets for referring to presumptive Democrat nominee Kamala Harris as simply "Kamala."
"Her name is Harris or VP Harris. News reports calling her ‘Kamala’ may not be intentionally disrespectful or demeaning but that is how she is treated. It's wrong," Rubin posted.
Good thing Rubin only calls her "Harris" and " VP Harris."
Well, not exactly.
"Jennifer Rubin referred to Kamala Harris as "Kamala" multiple times two days ago," reads the community note under her post. Here a few examples:
Pesky facts truly are the enemy of the bitter, whiny leftists.
While politicians are historically known by their last names, there are exceptions. Bernie Sanders is one of them, often referred to by his first name.
John F. Kennedy is best known as "JFK." Likewise, his nephew and 2024 presidential nominee Robert F. Kennedy is frequently called "RFK. Jr," even in print.
Kamala is a distinctive name, in contrast to "Joe" or "Donald" or "George." In fact, the official "rapid response page of Vice President Harris’ presidential campaign" on X agrees, titling the page "Kamala HQ."
"Now we have a new victim to defeat – lying Kamala Harris," Trump said at a large rally at an arena in Charlotte on Wednesday.
Kamala Harris is not a victim. And trolls like Jen Rubin aren't helping her by pretending she is.
