VIDEO: WFAN Morning Show Mocks Mike Francesa Segment

A recurring theme of the WFAN morning show over the last decade or maybe even longer at this point has been Boomer Esiason's co-host -- first Craig Carton, and now Gregg Giannotti (Gio) -- mocking Mike Francesa. Francesa, as most are aware, was in afternoon drive with Chris "Mad Dog" Russo for decades before remaining on top as a solo host when Russo left for SiriusXM. Now, Francesa has a lone hour from 6pm to 7pm on weekdays.

So there's no sports in the pandemic and thus scant sports topics to talk about. As Francesa chronicler @BackAftaThis has been noting, Francesa has been filling some of this time with a recurring segment about what two of his favorite old Yankees Mickey Mantle and Bernie Williams did on this date in history. On Wednesday, a caller politely told him that people don't really care about this topic and Francesa dismissed his criticism. Then, this morning, Gio mocked that segment, and later mocked Mad Dog over his recent tiff with MLB players:

Boomer was quite entertained.
