UK PM Boris Johnson Ends Mask Mandates

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wears a mask about as often as Pamela Anderson wears a bra. And now that Johnson has been caught violating his own rules, residents of England will soon join the Johnson and Anderson in letting it all hang out.

Just hours ago, Johnson said that he will soon lift mask mandates in Britain and end the charade of having to show proof of vaccine or a negative test in order to enter public places.

The announcement arrives only a few weeks after Johnson was "busted" for partying maskless. For the third time. Rather than double-down on the cosmetic masking theatre like so many politicians on this side of the pond, Johnson decided to take one on the chin and lift the onerous mask and vaccine/testing restrictions that he has imposed on others for so long.

“We will trust the judgement of the English people,” Johnson said on Wednesday. “And no longer criminalize anyone who chooses not to wear one."

The decision by Johnson to ease England's restrictions was instantly met with a chorus of cheers and nods of approval from those in attendance. Apparently, letting citizens live their lives without restriction is rather popular.

Along with lifting mask mandates -- which required people to wear masks on public transportation, in schools, offices and essentially anywhere outside of their home -- Johnson also recommended that employees who had been mandated to remote work return to their offices.

England's restrictions will be lifted January 26th, with the exception of school masking -- which ends Thursday.

“From tomorrow, we will no longer require face masks in classrooms and the Department for Education will shortly remove national guidance on their use in communal areas,” Johnson said.

Johnson also said that he intends to remove the legal requirement of self-isolation by March 24th or sooner, telling citizens: "Our scientists believe it is likely that the Omicron wave has now peaked nationally."

Now that the Prime Minister has finally been shamed into submission, don't be surprised if the Brits start showing off their Johnson once again.
