Trevor Bauer Says MLB Blocked Him from Wearing 'Free Joe Kelly' Cleats

Trevor Bauer has really blossomed into someone who is interesting and entertaining to observe, and he trolled MLB into a corner this week.

On Wednesday, Bauer announced that he planned to wear these 'Free Joe Kelly' cleats in support of the Dodgers pitcher who was suspended for throwing at Houston Astros players:

Bauer didn't ultimately wear the cleats, and later explained that MLB blocked him from doing so even though they had previously had rules with a wide enough latitude such that he believed this shouldn't have violated them:

This is still a net win for Bauer because he's probably going to wind up getting extra attention from the league's decision to bar him from wearing the cleats than he would've gotten if he had followed through with sporting them on the mound.
