Stanford To Require Weekly COVID Tests...Even If You're Vaccinated!

Hey college students, remember when getting the COVID vaccine meant the end of the oversight from school administrators hellbent on hassling you? Yeah, there's bad news. Stanford University announced Wednesday night that it would begin testing students on a weekly basis, regardless of vaccination status. That's right, even if you've been vaccinated, you'll still be hassled for a COVID test.

“Working together, we can monitor the prevalence of COVID-19 at Stanford, adjust requirements as needed, protect our friends and family, and keep campus as safe as possible for in-person learning and activities this summer and autumn,” Stanford Vice Provost for Student Affairs Susie Brubaker-Cole said in a statement.

Beginning August 15, the school will begin testing all students. There's also a campus rule that everyone must be vaccinated. And there's more. There will be a campus-wide indoor masking rule.

"All Stanford students, employees, and visitors are required to wear face coverings indoors, including lounges, dining halls, restrooms, laundry rooms, and elevators in student residences, except when alone in a private office or student room or actively eating or drinking. They may also be mandated at large events where the organizers specifically require them," the school said in its release.

Stanford isn't done just yet.

The school is also recommending vaccination for spouses, partners and children of those who work and study on the campus. We're talking a vaxxed, masked & tested utopia.

Stanford announced July 19 that it would stop testing vaccinated students. Now it's August 12 and the school is back to testing everyone.

While Stanford is going the ultra-vaxxed route, Wesleyan College in West Virginia will admit students who wish to remain unvaccinated but they will be required to pay a $750 fee and then be tested weekly. Students who test positive will then be sent to "contained housing" for 48 hours and then they'll be required to find housing arrangements until they're medically cleared to return to campus.

From there, Wesleyan students who want to stay on campus the rest of the semester will be charged a $250 fee. It's unclear if these rules apply to vaccinated students who test positive.
