My SEC Bowl Picks Against the Spread
The 2012 college football season was a great one for those of you who followed my gambling picks.
I was 35-19 against the spread in weekly game picks and 2-0 on my over/under season win totals. I took Kentucky on the under at 4.5 and won with ease and I took Mississippi State on the over at 7.5, rode State out to a 7-0 start and then got the one win I needed to hit the over at eight wins.
Now it's bowl season and by the time you guys read this I'll be over at the Music City Bowl watching Vanderbilt take on N.C. State.
As soon as that game is over we'll be doing a live 3HL radio show from downtown, the third floor of Honky Tonk Central at 329 Broadway. If y'all are out downtown -- as tons of y'all will be -- come by and see us.
Then immediately after 3HL ends New Year's Eve is off and running. I have nothing to do with making any of our plans, but I'll be out in Nashville's Gulch shortly after our radio show ends. Then, like tons of SEC fans all over the country, I'll be trying to keep tabs on LSU-Clemson while also eating dinner and preparing for the new year.
I figure most of you slackers are still not working today -- ever since the Friday before Christmas none of y'all have been working much, I can tell from the mobile vs. desktop traffic -- so I just wanted to give you degenerates out there my SEC bowl picks.
Here are all nine SEC bowl game picks:
Vandy -7 vs. N.C. State
LSU -6 vs. Clemson
Northwestern -1 vs. Mississippi State
South Carolina -5.5 vs. Michigan
Georgia -8 vs. Nebraska
Louisville +14 vs. Florida
Texas A&M -3 vs. Oklahoma
Ole Miss -3.5 vs. Pittsburgh
Bama -9.5 vs. Notre Dame
Now, time for my confession, I've got Bama at 5-1 to win the BCS title. (I took the odds a couple of days after the Texas A&M loss because I believed Bama had been way oversold.) So while I'm telling you guys to take Bama -9.5, I'm tempted to hedge and take Notre Dame. In a best case scenario for me, Bama would win by less than 9.5 points and I'd cover with my Notre Dame bet and win my futures bet with Bama.
So I think that's probably the move I'm going to make since I've already got good money on Bama via the futures bet.
But, again, if I was just betting on the BCS title game, I'd take Bama to cover here.
My BCS title game prediction is 24-6 Bama.
Have a happy new year everyone, and when y'all finally get back to work, I'll be heading down to Miami for the BCS title game. So OKTC should have some great content from Miami.
Hopefully these picks will do well for y'all. Thanks again for making 2012 such a spectacular year for Outkick the Coverage, and here's to a great 2013 for all of us.
May you all outkick your coverage in all facets of your life.
