Amari Cooper Wants To Suit Up For Cowboys This Weekend

Amari Cooper has been battling his way back from offseason ankle surgery. The former first-round pick was activated off the physically unable to perform, also known as the PUP, list just over a week ago. But gearing up for game action is a different challenge entirely.

We do know the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver is ready to get back onto the field. Cooper wants to test that surgically repaired ankle to see how far he's come.

“I would really have to run the full route tree,” Cooper said, via The Dallas Morning News. “There’s just a lot that I haven’t done. When I was 100 percent, I did everything. I ran every route. Some things on the football field are harder to do than others. I haven’t really done the more challenging aspects of my position yet.”

Cooper has every right to want to test that recovering ankle.

The star pass-catcher suffered a setback last season, with bone inflammation hindering his recovery process. Cooper is tired of dealing with the issue, and I can't say I blame him. But it's a matter of what he'll be allowed to do this Saturday.

The Cowboys welcome the Houston Texans to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
