Alabama Snags Five Star Recruit, Rashaan Evans, From Auburn

National signing day is Christmas in February for college football fans.

Inevitably, though, there are a few presents that end up being socks. And that just happened for the Auburn Tigers, who thought they had a five-star linebacker who went to high school in Auburn all set to sign for the Tigers, and be the crown jewel of Christmas in February.

How confident were the Tigers that Rashaan Evans, the son of a former Tiger, would be playing for Auburn?

They'd already built the official page for him announcing his signing.

And that page was public for fifteen minutes before Evans announced.

Only, Evans ended up committing to Alabama instead, in what classifies as the only true signing day shocker thus far.

Awk-ward.

Here's the page announcing Rashaan Evans -- since removed -- signed with Auburn.

If Evans goes on to be a stud linebacker at Alabama, this page will be painful for years to come for Auburn fans.

It's amazing how the Alabama-Auburn rivalry always finds a way to steal the day's news.

You want signing day in a nutshell, read the comments on Auburn's 24/7 site. Things go from great to bad pretty quickly.

(Update: Auburn says all pages are prebuilt for recruits. Okay, then you might want to keep that page from being public. Just an idea that I'm tossing out there).
