Alabama Set To See Loads of Standout Athletes Graduate

As graduation gets underway at The University of Alabama this weekend, the school said more than 100 Crimson Tide student-athletes are celebrating earning their degrees during the spring semester.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is among the trio of football standouts from championship teams — which also includes Shyheim Carter and Bo Scarbrough — who will go through commencement ceremonies this weekend after earning their degrees earlier this year. Alabama Athletics' website states Carter graduating with a master's degree.

This also includes a seven-time NBA champion, an NCAA champion, 16 All-Americans, and three Academic All-Americans as well as 31 who earned master's degrees, Alabama Athletics said in a news release.

"Seven-time NBA Champion Robert Horry, who played for the Crimson Tide from 1989-92, is returning to the Capstone after earning his bachelor's degree this spring," the release states. "The led Alabama men's basketball to three Southeastern Conference tournament titles and two Sweet 16 finishes in the NCAA Tournament, before going on to win more NBA championship rings than any player not to have played on the 1960s Boston Celtics."

A few members of last year’s basketball team will also get degrees including John Petty, Alex Reese, and Jordan Bruner. The trio will walk along with December grad Herbert Jones, AL.com reports.
