Alabama Lands Former Ohio State WR Jameson Williams

Former Ohio State receiver Jameson Williams said Monday that he plans to transfer to Alabama. Almost more important: He will be eligible to play immediately after the NCAA voted last month to allow players to transfer once without sitting out.

Williams caught just two touchdown passes last season, so it's unclear the type of impact he'll make with the Crimson Tide. If we had to guess, we'd say that he has a pretty decent shot at his new program. Just sayin'.

From what we can tell, the 6-foot-2 incoming junior has tons of open field ability, and that bodes well at Alabama. Jaylan Waddle, DeVonta Smith, and now players from elite programs like Ohio State want in on that. Can you really blame them?

Of course, newly-drafted Patriots QB Mac Jones won't be throwing Williams the football, but that won't matter. Watching any college talent head to Bama is like seeing a talented but doubted NFL player sign a deal with the Chiefs. We should assume Jameson Williams becomes a much better version of himself, possibly because he feels "unlocked" under Coach Nick Saban. It might even just be a mental thing at this point?

Anyways, Alabama is going to be good again, and we'll have to keep an eye out for their newest downfield toy.
