Meet Alabama QB Blake Barnett's pro surfer girlfriend

Musburger was right, you know.

In the famous video that turned Katherine Webb, A.J. McCarron's then-girlfriend (now wife), into a national star two years ago, Musburger fawningly said, "You quarterbacks -- you get all the good-looking women. So if you're a youngster at Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pop."

Blake Barnett is no dummy.

He's a freshman quarterback for the Crimson Tide, and his girlfriend is professional surfer Maddie Peterson.

She's from New Jersey and is a badass athlete in her own right, competing in the World Surf League.

Given she trains and surfs for a living, she won't always be in Tuscaloosa this fall to watch the Tide, but she'll clearly be rooting on Saturdays.

Alabama coach Nick Saban said on Thursday that the Tide are dialing in on developing three quarterbacks for the upcoming season. Barnett wasn't one of them, so it appears the true frosh is headed for a redshirt year and will get his chance to star at Bama at a later time.

He'll be fine. Happy weekend, all (pics courtesy of Maddie's Instagram account).
