Adrian Peterson had Covid.
He didn’t even know it.
That seems to be the story for most every healthy person that contracts the virus.
Peterson revealed that he has tested positive for antibodies as a member of the Washington Football Team while he spoke on “Undefined with Josina Anderson.”
Peterson said that he was tested for both corona and antibodies during his time with the Football Team; that the coronavirus test came back negative, but his antibody test was positive.
Peterson said he remembered experiencing symptoms of the coronavirus in early March — including loss of his sense of smell and taste, plus a cough. He added that he didn’t think those symptoms were widely known at the time; so he didn’t realize he had the virus nor felt a prompt to go get tested.
Peterson was cut by Washington and has found another life with Detroit.
He told local reporters that he still has a goal of playing five more years — which would make him 40. He said that keeping up with his body the way quarterbacks do could make it a reality.
“I sit here and I look at Aaron Rodgers, just guys that came before me, talking about Tom Brady,” Peterson told the Detroit Free Press. “And of course they’re not playing the running back position, so I get it from that standpoint, why a lot of people look at it and say, ‘Oh my God, this is so amazing.’ But to me it’s just like, it’s not amazing to me. Like, yeah, I still feel good, feel young, feel fresh. My recovery is pretty much the same and the body feels fresh. Like I say, I think it all comes down to your mentality and how you approach the game mentally and physically just being able to take care of your body.”
