Adam Sandler Breaks Out Happy Gilmore Drive After 25 Years, Shooter McGavin Responds

It has been 25 years since Happy Gilmore first hit the theaters. I'm not going to lie, it's hard to believe a quarter of a century has passed since the unsuccessful, angry hockey player turned into a golfing super star, but here we are.

In order to celebrate the special occasion, Adam Sandler hit the driving range to show that he's still got his iconic swing. Granted, he mentions during a video he shared on social media Tuesday that it's been a minute since he's tried it.

"OK, it's been 25 years since I've done this," the acting legend said while gearing up for his epic drive. "Let's see what happens. I'm scared. Shooter McGavin, this is for you."

Sandler then rockets one off the tee box in true Happy fashion. You've got to see this.

Of course, Shooter wasn't going to let Happy have all the fun.

Christopher Donald, the actor who plays Shooter, tweeted a response to Sandler. In full character, Donald brought that same snarky, better-than-you attitude back to the big -- or small, in this instance -- screen.

"Nice drive, Gilmore," Donald replied. "25 years, huh? Let's see if it's Shooter's tour. Check it out."

Shooter then proceeds to sink a glass put from his study. Subtle, but effective.

Shooter continues to be one of the most iconic movie characters of all time. Sure, Happy Gilmore is great, but Shooter is the man -- a true legend.

The entire back-and-forth is amazing to watch.

At least I now know how I am going to be spending the rest of my evening. This weather has got many of us holed up, but at least we can enjoy a little Happy Gilmore rerun from our living rooms.
