For anyone wondering whether money has been the culprit behind Aaron Rodgers’ discontent with the Green Bay Packers, he seemingly put that to rest on Tuesday morning.
NFL insider Adam Schefter with ESPN tweeted that the team had offered Rodgers a two-year contract extension that would’ve kept the longtime quarterback in Green Bay for the next five seasons. It also would’ve made him the highest paid player in the NFL.
Rodgers declined the offer.
This off-season, the Packers offered Aaron Rodgers a two-year contract extension that would have tied him to Green Bay for five more seasons and made him the highest-paid QB and player in football.
Rodgers declined the offer, proof it’s not about the money.

As Schefter points out, this proves it’s not about the money. But in some ways, we already knew that. It was never about the money, which just confirms what we believed all along.
From the looks of it, we aren’t even close to the end of this situation. The Packers seem to be digging in and trying to find a way to remedy the situation, but Rodgers isn’t budging. With training camp looming, it will be interesting to see what comes next.

Well, this isn’t exactly “proof” is that it’s not about the money…maybe Rodgers declined the extension offer because he felt it was too cheap? All this is just speculation until Rodgers speaks.
And the “proof” escapes me. Personally, I think he’s a giant baby and started all this to take the eyes off his failure at home against interception machine Brady. Took the blame right off himself by pointing at the front office and last years draft. Only a fool like you could fall for it. They were in the NFC championship game AT HOME!!!! The defense repeatedly picked Brady to put GB in win position…Rodgers failed and immediately shifted the blame…immediately. Loser. And another suck up ” journalist” failing to do anything but what the athlete tells them to do.
Maybe too harsh on the journo, but good grief Rodgers is the new NFL version of LeBron Both are talented, but they are a couple of whining babies. The NBA caters to LeBaby and the NFL to prima dona QBs like Baby Aaron.
