Davante Adams Say Packers Teammates ‘Praying’ For Aaron Rodgers To Return

Like a hungry tick hidden underneath your pooch’s collar, Aaron Rodgers is nowhere to be found.

With the Green Bay Packers itching for a response from their reigning league MVP, the rest of the team admits that they’re desperately waiting on his return.

As Aaron Rodgers sits pat on Hawaiian shores — spotted with his fiancée and actor/punching bag Miles Teller — Davante Adams relayed a common sentiment floating around Green Bay’s locker room.

“Everybody is praying that he does come back,” Adams said in an interview. The receiver clearly sides with his quarterback but admits that there is some low employee morale because of the publicized feud.

Adams also stated, “I’ll be there and I’ll be ready to rock. Hopefully, Aaron will be there as well and if he’s not, we’re gonna get going. Like I said in the press recently, I back him and I support him whatever he does. It’s just kind of how we get down. We’ve always had each other’s backs since I first got here. Like I said, (I’m) praying that he comes back, but if not, I’ll be there and I’ll be working.”

Second-year quarterback Jordan Love has generated some positive reports around training camp, but the young play caller needs to make a strong first impression on the field, especially since his first-round draft selection prompted the beginning of the cold war between general manager Brian Gutekunst and the disgruntled Rodgers.

Adams caught 115 receptions, 18 touchdowns and accumulated 1,374 receiving yards as a byproduct of Rodgers’ incredible MVP performance in 2020.

Aaron Rodgers, who turns 38 next year, may choose retirement over another year with the Packers, especially since September inches ever closer and the two sides remain at odds.
