It was a frustrating end to missing the cut for 27-year-old American golfer Bryson DeChambeau, who after a failed title defense declared that “I hate golf.”
DeChambeau suffered a tough week in a number of areas, as he also lost his caddie before the first round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
The caddie, Tim Tucker, who spent a long time working with DeChambeau told told the golfer simply: “I’m quitting.”
All of this for DeChambeau comes with just two weeks to go before the highly anticipated The Open Championship.
Proclaiming that “I hate golf,” came on a par-three during his second round as his ball raced towards a bunker.
DeChambeau was so distraught with his game that he refused to speak to the media in Detroit after wrapping up the second round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic at 1-under-par 143 and assuring himself of missing the cut.
“The Match,” coming up on Tuesday will take place as Phil Mickelson teams up with Buccaneers QB Tom Brady and DeChambeau is with Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.
Charles Barkley said jokingly on the NBA on TNT broadcast that he would have interest in being the next caddie for DeChambeau.
“I can’t wait,” Barkley said. “I’ve never met Bryson DeChambeau. I can’t wait to meet him. He’s a stud,” Barkley said.
“I might caddie for him. He’s got an opening right now, apparently.”

Hahahahaha. I think every golfer has said that at some point. As weird a dude as Dechambeau is, this makes him somewhat relatable. I’ve always rooted against him…might change that.
This. 100% of the people that have ever picked up a set of clubs and headed off to the golf course have said exactly the same thing.
