The Eagles just had TWELVE players test positive for COVID today, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Luckily for them, the CDC and NFL changed their protocols on a whim, which will potentially clear them all to play by week 18’s matchup with the Cowboys.
Fletcher Cox, Dallas Goedert, Jason Kelce, Genard Avery, Marcus Epps, Nate Herbig, Jordan Howard, Avonte Maddox, Rodney McLeod, Boston Scott, Alex Singleton, and Jack Stoll.
Practically the whole freakin’ team, but there’s a huge takeaway here:
The players that’ve tested positive today, at least according to the current protocols, should be free from testing for two to three months — AKA throughout an entire postseason run.
Roughly a dozen #Eagles players – including Fletcher Cox, Dallas Goedert and Jason Kelce – tested positive for COVID-19 today, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo.
Based on updated COVID protocols, they all have a chance to be cleared in time for Saturday’s game vs. the #Cowboys.

If all these players have to miss week 18 and it’ll allow them to play in a meaningful wildcard round, so be it. It’s still an abomination that players are still being tested when the virus presents zero threat whether they’re vaccinated or not.
We’ll get there eventually — it’s just taking far longer than it should.
Good thing they were vaxxed or they might have got super extra covid.
Omicron is nothing more than a cold for most. This is getting silly
Getting silly?
It’s been beyond silly for at least a year now.
Oh no they might need Vitamin C and Zinc to fight the deadly cold virus. Geez keep them isolated so as to not infect the rest of their team. Yikes.
You know they didn’t have any symptoms. These are scheduled tests. Beyond stupid at this point.
