Ric Flair, who took on the Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Syxx at Slamboree 1997 with the help of his old friend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Kevin Greene, is taking the news of Greene’s death rather hard. Flair revealed Tuesday that it was Greene who sent him a message in 2019 when the Nature Boy was fighting for his life in the hospital.
“Show this to Nature Boy,” Greene texted to Wendy Barlow, Ric’s wife. “I want some of his ass when he comes back. Sackmaster gonna make the Naitch pay!!!”
Greene passed away this week. He was 58.
“Still trying to process all this,” Flair posted Tuesday on social media. “I’m at a loss for words. What started out as a relationship of mutual respect resulted in a bond of friendship throughout these years. I have two autographed jerseys that you inscribed ‘You are simply the best!’
“Let me return this by saying you were the best,” Flair wrote. “We will all miss you! Rest in peace, Kevin!”

If I were Flair, I would question nearly everyone’s passing considering what he put his body through in his lifetime.
