90-Year-Old Man Spends $10,000 To Tell AT&T Its Internet Sucks

Few experiences are worse than having slow internet when you need to browse the web. Aaron M. Epstein, a 90-year-old man, agrees and has finally had enough. Tired of the lag times, Epstein spent $10,000 in ads in the Wall Street Journal to complain about AT&T’s slow internet service.

“It’s money well spent,” Aaron M. Epstein tells KTVU. “For the last five years, as soon as they started introducing streaming like Roku and movies on TV, my internet service, although I was paying for 3.5 Mbps., sometimes was only up to 1.5 Mbps. So, watching a movie through Roku was slideshows.”

Sounds reasonable. This young man, Epstein, also sounds rather tech-savvy, breaking down Mbps.

This is great:

I love to see someone not just complain but write a letter in anger to spark a change. Going right to the CEO takes guts.

“Your competitors now have speeds of over 200 MBS,” ouch.

“Aaron M. Epstein, an AT&T Customer since 1960,” brilliant.

Leave it to a 90-year-old man to take on the tech companies who think they are invincible. I don’t know about you, but I got Epstein in this battle.

  1. Pretty good bet, taking $10,000 of advertising and turning into several million dollars worth of advertising.

    AT&T saw the initial add and probably thought it was cute. Once they woke up from the absolute pummeling this gentleman gave, probably not so much now.
