5-Star Quarterback Ty Simpson Tells OutKick Why He Chose Alabama

Five-star quarterback Ty Simpson out of Westview High School in Martin, Tennessee chose Alabama over Clemson (yes, there was a Tennessee hat also on the table) Friday and becomes the fifth five-star quarterback commit during Nick Saban's stint as the greatest college coach of all-time at Alabama.

“I put down what my priorities are as a player and I felt like I could achieve all those at Alabama,” Simpson, who'll join the Tide in 2022, told OutKick Friday after making his decision.

Saban continues to chip away with his 2022 class. It went from being ranked 22nd nationally before the Simpson commitment all the way to 15th and figures to be yet another top class by the time the greatest of all-time gets done.

247 has Simpson, whose father, Jason, is the head football coach at UT-Martin, as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2022. If things stay as they are now, Bill O'Brien will be Simpson's offensive coordinator after he took over for Steve Sarkisian.

From the sound of things, Simpson's little brother didn't take the news very well.
