One thing that has really opened my eyes about content and technology is being a parent of a toddler who turns two years old next month. She has no patience for linear television, and just repeats over and over what program or person she wants to watch until we put it on for her. While there are some shows she likes on the PBS Kids app, more often than not, she requests programming from YouTube. There have to be millions of other parents out there experiencing the same thing, and I have always wondered how much these YouTube creators, such as this guy named Blippi who acts like a kid and plays with toys, are raking in.

Forbes put together a list of the 10 highest paid YouTube stars of 2020, and some of the figures are eye-popping. Here we show you who they are, how much they made, and how many views they had between June 2019 and June 2020. I've also included their highest-viewed video (which may not be from this past year):
