UFC Fighters Quietly Trained Members Of America's Most Elite Military Unit

It turns out the UFC and some members of Delta Force have a pretty close connection.

I recently spoke with former Unit operator Dave Nielsen about his time at war and the brutal reality of killing and death. During the interview, Dave - a great American - revealed that a handful of UFC fighters over the years have helped train Delta Force commandos in hand-to-hand combat.

Yes, you read that correctly. Some of Dana White's best guys have helped teach Delta Force members how to beat the tar out of bad guys with their bare hands if it comes with it.

Check out the awesome video below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Delta Force veteran says former UFC fighters train Unit members.

Initially, I was a bit surprised by what Dave revealed during the interview. Seriously, how badass is it that Dana White's top guys are helping train American commandos to smoke dudes in hand-to-hand combat.

Then, I started digging in a bit, and there are a few clues out there. Medal of Honor recipient Thomas P. Payne has spent time with Jon Jones, and retired Unit commando Brent Tucker has spent time with Mike Perry.

Turns out the connection has been out in the open if you know where to look.

I've reached out to the UFC for comment on the fact their fighters are helping Delta Force operators when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, but haven't heard back yet. I will update if they get back to me.

What I will say beyond any shadow of a doubt is that it's *INCREDIBLY* badass that UFC fighters are helping our greatest soldiers. Some athletes in America - such as Colin Kaepernick - can't even be motivated to stand for the national anthem. LeBron James is silent on the crimes of China while also criticizing freedom of speech in America.

Meanwhile, UFC guys are helping Delta Force operators get back at fighting. I laugh at the idea of an ISIS guy getting hit with a brutal knee shot or put in an armbar.

Fortunately, Delta Force is so fast and so good on their guns that the idea of a hand-to-hand engagement seems borderline impossible to believe. If it does happen, it sounds like the good guys will be ready to roll. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com!
