Thin-Skinned David Tepper Drove To A Charlotte Bar To Confront Manager

Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper is worth $20 billion, yet he is as petty as a beggar.

Case in point - just 90 minutes before the NFL Draft last night, Tepper and his posse rolled up to a local Charlotte bar and restaurant after word got out that the bar had criticized the Panthers owner for his roster moves in recent years.

"Please let the Coach and GM pick this year," a giant sign outside of Dilworth Neighborhood Grille read in the days prior to last night's Draft.

DAVID TEPPER EVEN TOOK OFF THE MANAGER'S HAT

Tepper seemingly did not appear to have a sense of humor about it. The owner had his car pull over so he and another man could go in and confront the manager and hostess about the sign as newly released surveillance video from the restaurant shows.

At one point, Tepper even had the gall to take the manager's hat off, which, he's lucky didn't escalate into something much bigger. I have plenty of friends that would have reacted very differently if someone had done that to them in New York.

Then again, this is thin-skinned Tepper we're talking about - the same billionaire that threw a drink at a Jaguars fan. I can only imagine what his board meetings are like.

The bar released a surveillance video of the incident which went viral last night.

TEPPER'S TENURE HAS BEEN ONE OF LOSING

Tepper's demeanor changed when he realized that the owner who was responsible for the sign wasn't working and that he was dealing with someone who had nothing to do with it. In an interview with WBTV, owner Matt Wohlfarth explained more of what went down.

He says that his manager was wearing an Eagles hat which is why Tepper took it off (Still, one heck of a ballsy move to do to someone you don't know though.)

Wohlfarth says that he wishes he had been there when Tepper came by because he would have had a very ‘candid’ conversation with him. "I do need him to be more of an owner and less of a coach or a GM," he said before adding that he still sticks by the sign and believes that the owner has too much influence with the roster.

Since purchasing the team in 2018, Tepper's tenure with the Carolina Panthers has been nothing short of a mess. The team has had 3 different head coaches in the past 3 years, including a 2-15 record last season. Last night, the Panthers drafted South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette with the 32nd pick.

We'll see if that will be enough to turn the Panthers team around or if next year there are a lot more signs around Carolina criticizing Tepper.
