Ronda Rousey Calls Out Joe Rogan For Allegedly Turning On Her

Ronda Rousey doesn't sound like a big fan of Joe Rogan.

The former UFC superstar is back in the news after releasing a new book and claiming the real reason for her downfall wasn't that better fighters - Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes - beat her. It was that concussion symptoms more or less made it impossible for her to take a shot.

"It got to the point where if I was getting touched at all, if I was getting jabbed, I was starting to get concussion symptoms and I couldn’t tell my coach about it. I couldn’t tell Dana White about it because they would retire me. They wouldn’t let me fight. And I wasn’t ready to let go. I wasn’t ready to admit that I couldn’t do everything perfectly because that’s what I had to believe to be able to be at that level," Rousey explained in a March interview.

The claim was pretty jarring, and she now has a new one:

Joe Rogan and others turned on her.

Ronda Rousey goes after Joe Rogan.

The legendary fighter spoke with Chris Cuomo and felt the need to take a shot after Joe Rogan. She stated the following, in part,:

"It was really disappointing to see how happily everybody turned on me and how people like Joe Rogan, who were crying in the ring about the honor of being able to call my fights, people I considered friends in the media so quickly turned on me. And I'm also kind of grateful in a way because it, like, forced me to separate my, like, outside people...other people's perception of me from my own perception of myself. Which I had realized had really become intertwined when you have that kind of, like, outpouring of, like, love and support from people. It's like you're being love bombed by the world, and you're, like, ‘How do I keep this going? How do I keep this going?’ And it was pushing me into a lifestyle that I felt like it was to impress everybody else. Like I was pandering to everybody."

She also claimed "MMA media hates" her. Interesting claim without a ton of evidence being presented. You can watch her comments staring around the 30-minute mark.

Rousey is welcome to her opinions, but if you're going to claim a person like Joe Rogan "turned" on you, then let's provide some serious evidence.

How did he turn? How did Joe Rogan - one of the most famous men in America - do to turn on Ronda Rousey? Question her skills after her career came crashing down? Does he not pick up the phone for her anymore? Is he rude to her?

There's nothing wrong with criticism of anyone when it's deserved. However, if you're going to do it, let's bring some notes. Bring some evidence. Don't just throw out an accusation like this against Rogan and then not really unpack it.

The reality of the situation is pretty simple. Ronda Rousey was at one point in time the most famous fighter in the world. She then got crushed in back-to-back fights by Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, and that was the ending of her fighting career. Move on, let it go and don't take shots at people without ample evidence. Her last fight - a loss to Nunes - was December 2016. That was more than seven years ago at this point. Let it go, Rousey. Let it go.
