Milan Lucic's Wife Files For Divorce Months After Alleged Domestic Incident

Brittany — wife of Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic — has filed for divorce, just months after the NHLer was at the center of an alleged domestic incident.

Back in November 2023, Lucic was placed on indefinite leave from the Bruins after police were called to his Boston condo following reports of a domestic incident. Lucic was arrested and faced assault and battery on a family member charges stemming from the incident.

However, those charges were dropped in February of this year when the prosecution was unable to build a case against him. The Associated Press reported that this was because Brittany Lucic refused to testify against her husband, citing marital privilege.

Additionally, the prosecution's request to admit a 911 call into evidence was denied, which really left them no choice but to drop the charges.

According to TMZ, Brittany Lucic submitted documents on Monday to begin divorce proceedings and in them, she cited "irreconcilable differences." The documents also included a date of separation of November 17, 2023, which was the day before the incident at the Boston condo.

This is another unfortunate off-ice development for Lucic, whose truncated 2023-24 NHL season was not the big homecoming everyone had hoped for.

Lucic was a big piece of the Bruins team that defeated the Vancouver Canucks in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. The Bruins traded him to the Los Angeles Kings in 2015 where he spent one season before moving on to stints with the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.

Lucic signed a one-year deal with the Bruins this past offseason. He appeared in just 4 games this season — registering 2 assists and a -1 +/- rating — before being placed on indefinite leave.

The Lucic-less Bruins came in second place in the Atlantic Division and are currently playing the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs. The series is tied 1-1.
