Boos Rain Down On Philadelphia 76ers After Terrible First Half

The Philadelphia 76ers fell victim to #HeatCulture in the first half of Wednesday's play-in game. Thus, the boo birds were out in full force for the Sixers.

Expectations were high for reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid and Philly, facing a seemingly slower Miami Heat team led by Jimmy Butler.

Well, Miami is giving Philly severe fits. Heading into halftime, the Heat carried a 51-39 lead over the Sixers.

The Sixers have been comically careless with the rock, allowing Miami to score 17 points in the period off turnovers. Fans at Wells Fargo Center booed the team in the second and third quarters, waiting for the Sixers to take off or catch up to Miami.

Tobias Harris, assumed to be the third-best player on the 76ers, has also been laughably bad, which is a frequent complaint made about the overpaid player.

There's no denying Miami has a postseason magic to them.

But Philly ultimately surged back to win in the fourth quarter.

Nic Batum became a Philly hero and the Sixers' front-court played smart and physical down the stretch, advancing past the play-in with a 106-105 win over the Heat.

The Sixers will advance to play the New York Knicks in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Miami will play against the winner of Hawks versus Bulls.
