Deion Sanders Gives Dumb Excuse For Why He Got Into It With Random Troll On Social Media

Deion Sanders took some time out of his day last week to call out a random social media troll after his son and star Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders fired off a questionable post himself. Now, Coach Prime is explaining why he went down that path, and his excuse is eye-roll inducing.

The drama involving both Deion and Shedeur seems to have stemmed from a post the young QB shared on X, formerly Twitter, criticizing one of his now-former teammates, Xavier Smith.

Shedeur quoted a story from The Athletic that claimed Deion didn't exactly put his best foot forward to get to know Smith before he ultimately jumped into the transfer portal. Shedeur didn't agree with the story, nor did he remember Smith being a part of the Colorado squad.

Shedeur's post on X was viewed over 17 million times and caught the attention of just about everyone in the college football world, leading Deion's mentions to be flooded with criticisms of his son.

The day after Shedeur's post went viral, Deion jumped in by calling out a random person with fewer than 200 followers. The troll, who didn't have a real name or personal featured image, suggested Deion tell Shedeur to essentially chill out with the trash talk given that he led Colorado to a 4-8 season last year.

Deion didn't appreciate the troll's comments, and made things personal right away.

While Deion's post was plenty cringe, his explanation for why he decided to fire off the post is even worse.

"I gotta do better on that and not ride with it, but I was bored," he told "Thee Pregame Show." "I was bored, and I didn’t say nothing hurtful. I don’t attack people."

Didn't say "nothing" hurtful? You literally bragged about how you think your son is going to be a Top 5 NFL Draft pick, then made fun of this random person's son who they may or may not even have.

Deion's entire brand is about being personable and entertaining, but nothing is entertaining about getting into it with random people online.
